The charger can remain plugged-in for trickle-charge
purposes during long periods of storage.
For storage periods over 3 months, the battery pack
should be checked and fully recharged every 3 months.
A battery charger is located at the top of the battery
pack. The battery can be charged when the battery is
on-board the E-Bike™ or it can be removed for remote
charging.
On-Board Battery Charging
Perform the following to charge the battery while the battery
pack is installed in the E-Bike™.
1. Turn the power knob to the OFF position.
2. Turn the battery-compartment latches clockwise, and
open the door.
3. Retrieve the charging cord from the compartment above
the bottom bracket.
4. Plug the female end of the cord into the receptacle on
the battery charger as shown in Figure 3. Plug the male
end of the cord into a standard U.S. 110V/60 cycle wall
socket.
5.The red LED on the charger and cooling fan will
automatically turn on when in the charging mode.
6. The LED turns to green and the cooling fan turns off
when the battery pack is fully charged.
WARNING:
Keep the charger and battery pack away from water to
prevent electrical shock and shorting. The charger is
intended for indoor use only.
CAUTION:
If the cooling fan does not operate when in the charging
mode (Red LED on), immediately unplug the charger from
the wall socket. Contact an authorized EVG dealer for advice.
